The Member of Parliament for Shamva North, Hon. Isaac Chinodakufa, is spearheading a sweeping array of development projects across the constituency, vigorously responding to President Mnangagwa’s mantra that development must leave no community behind.
Utilising the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and bolstering it with significant personal contributions, the ZANU PF legislator is overseeing critical initiatives in health, infrastructure, and transport, directly tackling longstanding challenges faced by his constituents.
A multi-faceted approach is underway. In the health sector, construction of a new clinic is in progress at Mupfurudzi in Ward 8, with all materials procured through the CDF already on site.
Demonstrating a personal commitment to expanding healthcare access, Hon. Chinodakufa has also personally funded the purchase of bricks to initiate the construction of a second clinic at Chidabwe in Ward 25.
Further addressing infrastructure deficits, a crucial bridge rehabilitation project is ongoing at Garande village in Ward 1.
The MP kickstarted this effort by donating a tonne of cement to ensure its swift commencement. Additionally, to improve maternal health services, a new mother’s waiting shelter is being erected at the Nyamaropa Clinic.
In a major boost for connectivity and trade, extensive road grading project is also ongoing, linking Madziva Mine to Chindunduma via Magadzi in Ward 14.
Hon. Chinodakufa stated that his work is a direct implementation of the national development agenda.
“Our President, His Excellency Cde. Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa, has been clear: development is the cornerstone of our nation’s future. In Shamva North, we are not just listening; we are acting. Through the prudent use of CDF and a collective spirit, we are bringing tangible change to every ward, ensuring that our people feel the positive impact of governance,” he said.
The efforts have been met with widespread applause from residents. Diana Kanyemba, a community member from Ward 8, expressed her gratitude.
“For years, we travelled long distances for healthcare. This new clinic will save lives. Hon. Chinodakufa is a man of his word, and we truly see the government working for us here,” said Kanyemba.
Echoing this sentiment, Christine Munyoro from Garande village highlighted the impact of the bridge repair.
“That bridge was a death trap, especially during the rains. The MP’s quick intervention shows he listens to our problems. He is not an absent leader; he is here with us, developing our area as the President has instructed,” said Munyoro.
The flurry of activity has positioned Shamva North as a model constituency in translating national policy into visible, on-the-ground development, fostering a renewed sense of optimism among its populace.
