Govt walks the talk on development commitment

Minister of State for Manicaland Province, Advocate Misheck Mugadza, said Government had walked its talk on development commitment.

He said this while speaking at the official opening of the 18th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanai world tourism expo held in Mutare, yesterday, by President Emmerson Mnangagwa,

“We are grateful to your Excellency for a Government that walks the talk on its development commitment whose results we witnessed today. Hotel occupancy is at 100% across the province as buyers and exhibitors from around the world have descended upon Manicaland. We are grateful to you your Excellency for your engagement and re-engagement policy which today confirms that Zimbabwe is a true friend to all,” said Minister Mugadza.

The Minister of State for Manicaland Province also said Government was seriously taking tourism as a key economic driver.

“This is a very clear and humbling demonstration that your Government seriously takes tourism as a key economic driver. Provinces like ours stand to benefit from growth innovation and sustainable transformation of tourism into a modern competitive and inclusive sector,” he said.

Minister Mugadza showered President Mnangagwa with praises, pointing out that his devolution and decentralisation thrusts were a success.

“The hosting of the prestigious 18th edition of a tourism event like today speaks volumes of the success of your devolution and decentralisation thrust in which your desire to leave no one and no place behind gains practical meaning. Over this past weekend, Your Excellency, we witnessed two momentous events, first, the launch of the inaugural Air Zimbabwe, Harare to Mutare flight and second, we received the refurbished National Railways of Zimbabwe train much to the jubilation of your people in Manicaland. “Your Excellency it gives me immeasurable pleasure to welcome you and your delegation to Manicaland Province for the 18th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanai world tourism expo here in Manicaland in our diamond city of Mutare our provincial capital. We express from the onset our excitement that this event is being held in our province. Let me take this opportunity to thank you your Excellency for choosing this province to host his mighty programme first after Bulawayo,” he said.
