Founder and Chairperson of Pastors 4ED, Prophetess Dr Idirashe Dongo, commended President Emmerson Mnangagwa for what she described as sustained efforts to advance Zimbabwe’s economic development through empowerment programmes targeting women, youths, and communities.
Speaking at the organisation’s annual general meeting in Harare, yesterday, Dongo said Government policies were yielding tangible benefits across sectors and social groups.
“We commend President Mnangagwa for spearheading empowerment programmes that are transforming lives and creating opportunities for Zimbabweans.
Women are being uplifted, youths are being empowered, and communities are increasingly becoming active participants in economic development,” she said.
Dongo declared that the Church would take on a more pronounced developmental role this year, aligning its activities with the President’s philosophy of Nyika Inovakwa neVene Vayo.
“This year, the Church will be seen taking an active role in nation-building.We are embracing the President’s vision which encourages citizens to take responsibility for building their country through unity, productivity, and collective effort,” she added.
Dongo emphasised that religious institutions have a broader obligation that extends beyond spiritual leadership.
“The Church has a responsibility to contribute meaningfully to national development. Our mandate is not confined to the pulpit. We must support initiatives that promote peace, unity, economic growth, and social stability,” she said.
According to the organisation’s 2026 Action Plan, Pastors 4ED will intensify its involvement in key socio-economic sectors, including agriculture, youth empowerment, and community outreach programmes.
“Our Action Plan focuses on practical engagement. We will actively participate in agriculture to support national food security, empower youths through skills development and entrepreneurship initiatives, and strengthen community programmes that promote peace, unity, and development,” she noted.
Dongo said Pastors 4ED would remain committed to mobilising churches and communities to play an active role in national development.
“We stand ready to support initiatives that advance peace, unity, and economic transformation,” she said.
Provincial coordinators attending the meeting expressed confidence in Zimbabwe’s direction, citing ongoing development programmes and policy reforms.
“Zimbabwe is moving forward. There is clear progress across sectors, and we believe the national vision requires continuity and policy stability,” said one provincial coordinator.
Pastors 4ED is a faith-based organisation that advocates for citizen participation in national development through church-led programmes aligned with Zimbabwe’s socio-economic transformation agenda.
