ZANU PF Youth League to lead Mganwini clean-up campaign

Bulawayo Province DCC 5 Zanu PF Youth League will spearhead a clean-up campaign at Mganwini, KoSaimart, starting at 8 in the morning on 6 March, 2026. The initiative forms part of the Youth League’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental cleanliness, foster community responsibility, and encourage active citizen participation, in line with national development goals.

In a statement, yesterday, the Youth League Bulawayo Province said the campaign forms part of the Youth League’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental cleanliness.

“The clean-up initiative is aimed at instilling a culture of civic responsibility among young people and residents, while ensuring that our communities remain healthy and safe.

We are calling on all party members, youths, and residents in and around Mganwini to join us in this drive and take ownership of their environment,” it noted.

The Youth League added that the exercise would include removing litter, clearing public spaces, and sensitizing the community on proper waste management.

“These activities are not only about cleaning up, but also about educating residents on the importance of maintaining a clean and sustainable environment,” the youths added.

In addition, the Youth League urged participants to get in touch with the Youth Affairs Department under DCC 5 Bulawayo Province for more information and details on registration.

“We want everyone to be prepared, equipped, and engaged during the campaign, and our office will provide guidance to ensure safety and coordination,” the league said.

The Youth League said the clean-up drive is part of a wider movement to foster active citizenship and contribute to national development through hands-on community service.

“Through these initiatives, the Youth League demonstrates that young people are capable of leading meaningful change. By working together, we can create cleaner, healthier, and more liveable communities for everyone,” it said.

The Mganwini campaign follows previous youth-led clean-up drives in Bulawayo that reportedly improved public spaces, strengthened community engagement, and encouraged residents to take collective responsibility for their environment.
