Modern Theatre, X-ray Machines commissioned at Muduvuri Hospital

Healthcare services in Kadoma have been strengthened by the commissioning of a modern surgical theatre and advanced X-ray machines at the Muduvuri Pan African Hospital, improving local medical capacity and reducing the need to refer patients to distant facilities.

The hospital, established two years ago by businessman and philanthropist Jimayi Muduvuri, continues to expand in line with Vision 2030, which aims to provide quality healthcare and improve livelihoods across Zimbabwe.

At the handover ceremony, Muduvuri said the new facilities are part of efforts to make healthcare accessible and affordable for vulnerable groups, including the elderly and persons with disabilities.

“This hospital was built by Zimbabweans for Zimbabweans. It aligns with the philosophy ‘Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo’. We must take responsibility for developing our country,” said Muduvuri.

The surgical theatre is equipped to handle various procedures, while the new digital X-ray machines will enable faster and more accurate diagnoses.

Healthcare workers noted that prior to these upgrades, many patients had to travel to Harare or Chegutu for imaging and surgical services.

“Patients are now receiving diagnoses and care within the hospital, reducing the need for long-distance travel,” said Sister Everjoy Muzama, a senior nurse.

In addition to medical services, the hospital has established a rehabilitation and vocational training centre for patient recovery and skills development. A nursing school is scheduled to open in 2026, further expanding the hospital’s role as a healthcare and training facility.

The hospital serves patients from Kadoma and surrounding areas, providing an example of community-driven healthcare investment.

Local residents and leaders welcomed the improvements, noting that access to timely healthcare is becoming more reliable.

The Ministry of Health and Child Care described the development as progress in decentralizing health services and encouraged similar investments from other private sector players.

“This is an example of Vision 2030 in action — inclusive and sustainable health services,” said a ministry representative.

The hospital is open to the public and offers outpatient care, surgical procedures, diagnostics, and rehabilitation services.
