Member of Parliament for Chivi Central Constituency, Exevia Maoneke, donated and officially handed over 10 hospital beds to Chishave Clinic in Ward 16, Chivi District.
Speaking at the handover ceremony on Saturday ,Maoneke said the intervention was in line with the Second Republic’s vision of prioritising rural development and ensuring equitable access to healthcare services.
“The Second Republic under the leadership of His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa is very clear that no community must be left behind. Rural health institutions such as Chishave Clinic are critical to the well-being of our people, and it is our responsibility as leaders to support them,” he said.
Maoneke said national development could not be realised without a healthy population, stressing that healthcare remained a key pillar of socio-economic transformation.
“We cannot talk about development, productivity and economic growth when our people are sick and do not have access to basic healthcare services. A healthy nation is a productive nation, and that is why improving healthcare delivery, especially in rural areas, remains a priority of the Second Republic,” he stated
He added that the donation of hospital beds was part of ongoing efforts to complement Government programmes at constituency level.
“Government alone cannot do everything. As Members of Parliament, we have a duty to complement Government initiatives and respond to the immediate needs of our communities. This donation is a small but important contribution towards improving service delivery at this clinic,” Maoneke said.
Chivi Central Constituency has continued to benefit from various Second Republic programmes aimed at improving livelihoods and service delivery.
At the conclusion of the handover event, fertiliser was also distributed to community members in attendance as part of ongoing efforts to support agricultural productivity and enhance food security.
