President Mnangagwa has effected a strategic Cabinet reshuffle, reassigning three ministers with immediate effect to strengthen Government delivery and improve policy coordination.
In a statement, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya, confirmed that the changes were made in terms of Section 104(1) of the Constitution.
Former Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Dr Jenfan Muswere, has been appointed Minister of Skills Audit and Development, a portfolio expected to drive national human capital planning and ensure skills alignment with Zimbabwe’s development priorities.
Professor Paul Mavima, who had been leading the Skills Audit and Development Ministry, has been reassigned to head the Ministry of National Housing and Social Amenities. His new mandate includes accelerating housing delivery, strengthening urban renewal initiatives and improving public amenities.
Meanwhile, Dr Zhemu Soda, who had been serving as Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities, takes over the Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services portfolio, succeeding Professor Mavima. Dr Soda is expected to lead Government communication and oversee reforms in the media and broadcasting sector.
