Zimbabwe national cricket team captain, Sikandar Raza, has reclaimed the number one spot in the ICC Men’s T20I all-rounder rankings following a stellar match-winning display at the T20 World Cup in Colombo.
The latest ICC update highlights Raza’s exceptional consistency with both bat and ball, further underlining his vital role in the Chevrons’ World Cup campaign.
Raza delivered another dominant all-round performance in Zimbabwe’s eight-wicket victory over Oman. He took 1 for 17 from four disciplined overs to help restrict Oman to 103 runs, before calmly steering Zimbabwe home by hitting the winning runs.
The display lifted him above Pakistan’s Saim Ayub, allowing him to regain the top ranking he first achieved late last year.
Teammate Brian Bennett also made notable progress in the ICC standings. His unbeaten 48 in the same match propelled him to a career-best 19th place in the T20I batting rankings. India’s Abhishek Sharma continues to lead the global batting list.
Raza’s rise back to the summit comes at a crucial time, giving Zimbabwe added momentum as they push for a strong finish in the tournament.
