Thomas Partey, who previously played for Arsenal, has been charged with two further counts of rape following allegations made by a new complainant.
The 32-year-old had already pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape involving two women and one count of sexual assault relating to a third woman. The latest charges mean he is now accused of offences involving four different women.
According to the Metropolitan Police, the new allegations relate to incidents said to have occurred in 2020 and were reported to authorities in August last year, prompting a fresh investigation.
Partey is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 13 March for a first hearing on the two additional charges.
He was previously granted conditional bail by Southwark Crown Court in September after pleading not guilty to the original counts. Those earlier alleged offences reportedly took place between 2021 and 2022 while he was playing for the north London club.
Partey was charged four days after departing Arsenal following the expiry of his contract.
