Harare set for inaugural Ama2K Fest

Music lovers are gearing up for the first edition of Ama2K Fest, set to take place on 04 April at Belgravia Sports Club, in Harare, with organisers promising a high‑energy showcase of both international and local talent.

The festival will be headlined by Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ruger, alongside South African artists Naledi Aphiwe and Scotts Maphuma, as well as homegrown stars including Nutty O, Shashl, Runna Rulez, Bagga, Atenda Chinx and DJ Yahya Goodvibes.

Organisers say the event is designed to offer fans a mix of Afrobeats, amapiano, and Zimbabwean urban music in one vibrant outdoor setting.

Speaking ahead of the event, a spokesperson for PERivent Global and Chipaz Promotions, the festival organisers, said the aim was to create a platform that empowers young artists and fans alike.

“Beyond just hosting an event where the youth can enjoy themselves, Ama2K Fest is a tool for positive change. We want young people to feel part of the festival through the music, collaborations and opportunities it creates,” the spokesperson said.

Tickets for the festival are already on sale, with early‑bird tickets priced at US$10 for ordinary access and US$20 for VIP. Online purchases are available via Ticketbay.

Fans have expressed excitement about the line-up.

Local music enthusiast,Tendai Moyo said, “Seeing international artists like Ruger perform alongside our local stars makes this event very special. It’s the kind of festival young people have been waiting for.”

Another fan, Rudo Chikodzi, highlighted the significance of the event for Zimbabwe’s music scene.

“The mix of Afrobeats, amapiano and local artists shows how our music culture is connecting with the rest of Africa,” she said.

Organisers also revealed that part of the proceeds from the festival will support Marondera Children’s Home, marking the start of a charitable component for future editions.

The Ama2K Fest is expected to run from midday until late, promising a lively atmosphere of music, fashion, and youth culture. Organisers are also confident that the event could become a new highlight on Harare’s entertainment calendar.
