Insiza North rallies behind Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill

Member of Parliament for Insiza North, Hon Delani Moyo, has expressed strong support for the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill, saying the constituency stands firmly behind the proposed legislation.

Speaking in an interview with the Harare Post in Insiza yesterday, Hon Moyo advised that the success of Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill is the key to unlocking the nation’s developmental agenda.

“Our constituency fully supports the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill because we see it as a key driver in achieving our national development aspirations under Vision 2030,” said the legislator.

He confirmed that he will vote in favour of the Bill when it is tabled before the National Assembly.

“The transformation of Zimbabwe into an upper middle-income economy is embedded in the provisions of this Bill, making it a crucial instrument for progress,” he added.

Residents in Insiza North have echoed similar sentiments, pointing to ongoing development projects as signs of progress. These include the construction of new classroom blocks and the installation of solar powered boreholes at Shangani Mine Business Centre to improve access to clean water.

A local resident, Dumiso Makhalima, also backed the Bill, arguing that it addresses long standing perceptions rooted in the colonial era.

“There has been a belief that majority rule is tied to foreign governance systems that limit how we elect our leaders. This Bill helps correct that thinking,” he said.

“The provision allowing the National Assembly to elect the President is not new. It has been used before as a way to manage political disputes and processes,” Makhalima added.

Ward 14 Councillor Kembo Nkomo affirmed of  widespread support across the constituency.

“There is overwhelming support for this Bill in our communities. People believe it will strengthen governance and improve service delivery,” said Nkomo.

With both leadership and residents aligned, Insiza North continues to show strong backing for the Bill, viewing it as a pathway to inclusive governance and sustainable development.
