MP drives Lambamai clinic nurses’ cottage project

Construction of a nurses’ cottage at Lambamai Clinic in Ward 20, Insiza North, is now underway, marking a major step in improving rural healthcare services under the leadership of Member of Parliament for Insiza North, Delani Moyo.
The project builds on groundwork laid in 2025, when 20 000 bricks were delivered to the site. The Insiza Rural District Council later facilitated the transportation of 200 bags of cement, enabling construction works to commence.
Moyo has maintained a strong focus on delivery, ensuring that projects initiated within the constituency are completed. This approach is now yielding visible results on the ground.
Once complete, the nurses’ cottage will provide on site accommodation for healthcare workers, improving working conditions and ensuring consistent service delivery at the clinic.
The development is expected to address long standing challenges, including delays in accessing medical assistance, particularly during emergencies.
Residents have welcomed the initiative, describing it as timely and life changing.
“This will help us a lot because nurses will always be available in times of emergencies,” said Nomusa Ndlovu.
“We have faced many challenges when nurses are not around. This project brings relief,” said Thabani Mkhize. “Our clinic will now serve us better and save lives.”
Healthcare workers also expressed appreciation for the development, saying it will significantly improve their ability to serve the community.
“This is a major milestone for us as nurses. Accommodation has always been a challenge, and this support from Honourable Moyo shows that our concerns are being taken seriously,” said Sister Nokuthula Dube.
“We commend Honourable Moyo for his hands on approach to development. His efforts, together with the vision of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, are transforming rural healthcare and ensuring that no community is left behind,” Staff Nurse Nkosilathi Ncube said. “This project will motivate us to work more efficiently and remain within the community we serve. We appreciate the Second Republic for prioritising health infrastructure and improving conditions for frontline workers.”
The project is being funded through the Constituency Development Fund, with support from the Insiza Rural District Council.

MP Moyo said the focus remains on improving people’s lives through practical development.
“This project shows our commitment to strengthening healthcare services and supporting our communities,” he said.
The initiative aligns with Vision 2030 under President Emmerson Mnangagwa, which prioritises infrastructure development and improved service delivery across the country.
