Preparations for the 66th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair 2026 are at an advanced stage, with organisers confirming a 97 percent readiness level ahead of the showcase.
Addressing members of the media during a press briefing, yesterday, Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Company Board Chairman, Busisa Moyo, said the institution has now moved into the final execution phase, focusing on coordination, quality assurance and seamless delivery.
“Thank you for joining us today as we provide an update on the state of preparedness for ZITF 2026. We are pleased to report that preparations are on track, with all critical operational, commercial and infrastructure workstreams firmly in place,” Moyo said.
He said exhibition space uptake stands at 97 percent, with 49 810 square metres already taken up out of 51 170 square metres available.
“This strong uptake reflects the high level of confidence from both local and international exhibitors in this year’s edition of the Trade Fair,” he said.
Moyo said business visitor registrations have increased significantly compared to last year.
“Business visitor registrations are currently at 10 472, compared to last year’s number of 8 142. Based on these indicators, our overall readiness level is high,” he said.
He said exhibitor uptake has been strong across both the public and private sectors.
“Government participation stands at 42 percent, while the private sector contributes 58 percent of space uptake. All permanent halls are nearly fully subscribed, and a purpose-built marquee has been erected to cater for overflow demand. This is a clear indicator of market confidence and sustained interest in the ZITF platform,” he added.
ZITF Company Chief Executive Officer, Dr Nicholas Ndebele, said the organisation is ready to deliver a world-class event.
“We remain committed to delivering a world-class exhibition that meets the expectations of our stakeholders and partners,” said Dr Ndebele.
Moyo said 485 direct exhibitors, including 100 leaseholders, have been confirmed for this year’s edition, while international participation remains strong.
“We have 46 international exhibitors from 29 countries, which highlights the global appeal of the fair,” he said.
He said all major conferences and networking platforms are ready.
“We have partnered with the Flying Eagles Cycling Club on a 100-miler cycling event, which will serve as the curtain-raiser for this year’s show,” he said.
On the Rural Industrialisation Conference, Moyo said, “This is a flagship empowerment platform structured to transition communities from peripheral participants to equity holders in industrial value chains.
“The 2026 edition builds on last year’s programme, moving from dialogue to delivery.”
The annual trade showcase, held in Bulawayo, is one of Zimbabwe’s premier business events and attracts exhibitors and visitors from across the globe.
