ZRP to host 2026 commissioner-general’s 21km road race

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has announced that it will host the 2026 Commissioner-General of Police’s 21-kilometre Road Race on Saturday, May 9, at Baobab Stadium B Arena in Mashonaland West Province.

In a statement released yesterday , the police said the race will commence at 6am, with registration currently in progress at a fee of US$20 per participant.

“Participants are encouraged to register online, although alternative physical registration points have been set up at the ZRP National Sports Office, Mkushi Academy and ZRP Turf for those unable to access the online platform,” read the statement.

“Registration will close on May 8, and there will be no registration on race day.”

The event is being sponsored by Old Mutual Zimbabwe.

“The Guest of Honour will be the Commissioner-General of Police, Stephen Mutamba,” the statement said.

 The race will feature multiple categories, including the 21km Open, 10km Open, Juniors Under-20 (10km), Veterans (10km), Masters/Mistress (10km), Tertiary (10km), Wheelchair (10km), Grand Master/Grand Mistress (10km), and 5km Open.

The police said the event is aimed at promoting fitness and encouraging broad community participation across different age groups and abilities.
