The Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, in partnership with the Parliament Budget Office and the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, has launched the National Budget Education and Consultation Outreach Programme in Masvingo under the theme, ‘Your Voice, Your Budget, Your Future’,” the Ministry said.

The Ministry added that the outreach programme reflects Government’s commitment to broad-based participation in economic planning and budgeting.

“The consultations, which began in Chivi and continued in Gutu, will conclude in Bikita on 26 June, as part of a nationwide drive to gather citizens’ views and priorities for the 2027 National Budget,” it said.

According to the Ministry, the consultations are aligned with the country’s long-term development agenda and are intended to strengthen public participation in national decision-making.

“The National Budget Education and Consultation Outreach Programme in Masvingo is advancing inclusive participation in the 2027 National Budget process, in line with NDS2 and Vision 2030,” the statement said.

The Ministry said the outreach has brought together a wide cross-section of stakeholders, including residents, business associations, traditional and local leadership, as well as Government institutions, to deliberate on issues affecting their communities.

“The consultations have brought together residents, business associations, local leaders and Government agencies, providing communities with a platform to directly influence budget priorities, fiscal policies and investment incentives that support local development and national economic transformation,” the Ministry said.

Government expects feedback gathered during the nationwide consultations to inform the formulation of the 2027 National Budget, ensuring that public spending priorities respond to the needs of communities while promoting economic growth, infrastructure development, investment and improved service delivery.
