The Commissioner-General of Police, Stephen Mutamba has officially commissioned a newly constructed Siakobvu Police Station in Mashonaland West Province, marking a significant upgrade in policing infrastructure in the area.
The new facility features an administration office block, a station hall, and staff accommodation quarters, replacing the old wooden structures that previously housed the station.
In a statement, Zimbabwe Republic Police national spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the development forms part of ongoing efforts to modernise police infrastructure across the country.
“The new complex is part of the ZRP’s quest to modernise and equip police establishments with relevant policing tools and facilities,” he said.
The commissioning of the station is expected to improve working conditions for officers and enhance service delivery to the Siakobvu community, which relies on the facility for policing and security services.
Authorities say the upgrade reflects broader national efforts to strengthen law enforcement capacity through improved infrastructure and resources.
