It’s a highly tense time here in the occupied West Bank as Israeli forces are seemingly raiding every town and arresting Palestinians en masse.
People are oftentimes just in their homes doing nothing but continue to suffer and bear the brunt of being born under Israeli occupation. While Israeli raids are mostly focused in the north, assaults continue to be conducted all across the occupied West Bank.
We’ve also been witnessing an uptick in house demolitions. Israel is using the pretext of “no permits” to demolish the houses of Palestinians who are simply building on their own land.
But because Israel is an occupying power, it has given itself the right to grant permits, or rather not grant these permits to Palestinians.
In one area close to Hebron, we’ve seen Israeli settlers attack Palestinians whose homes have been demolished by Israeli soldiers. This apartheid system is making life extremely difficult and unbearable for residents.
Palestinians say the Israelis aren’t hiding their ultimate plan, which is to get Palestinians to leave their homes and their land.Oil prices have extended their declines as the US and Iran have refrained from attacks in their on-again, off-again war.
