President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said the strong turnout at the 2026 Zimbabwe Business Forum in New York reflects growing investor interest in the country and its wide range of economic opportunities.
Addressing the business forum on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), President Mnangagwa said the response from the business community demonstrated clear willingness to engage Zimbabwe and examine prospects available in the country.
“The oversubscription of this forum speaks volumes of investors’ interest and willingness to explore the numerous prospects Zimbabwe offers.
The level of interest shown by investors was significant, particularly as Zimbabwe continues to present opportunities across its diverse economic sectors,” he added.
The President said the participation of investors at the forum demonstrated the importance of creating platforms where Zimbabwe could present its economic prospects while investors gained a better understanding of opportunities available in the country.
“The strong investor appetite and clear willingness to explore Zimbabwe’s wide-ranging opportunities demonstrate the significance of platforms such as this forum,” he said.
The 2026 Zimbabwe Business Forum forms part of Zimbabwe’s economic diplomacy engagements on the margins of the UN General Assembly, bringing the country’s investment opportunities to the attention of an international business audience.
