Presidential Borehole Scheme brings clean water to Mutare Teachers College

The Presidential Empowerment Funds has commissioned a new borehole at Mutare Teachers’ College under the Presidential Borehole Scheme.

In a statement, yesterday, the Presidential Empowerment Fund said the development was in line with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision of ensuring universal access to safe and clean water for all Zimbabweans.

“The Presidential Borehole Scheme has brought clean water to Mutare Teachers’ College and war veterans.

In line with President E.D. Mnangagwa’s vision of universal access to clean water, a new borehole has been commissioned at Mutare Teachers’ College under the Presidential Borehole Scheme,” the statement said.

According to the statement, the newly commissioned borehole at Mutare Teachers’ College has been equipped with seven standalone outlets and four taps to ensure adequate water supply at the institution.

“The borehole will serve the entire institution, ensuring reliable water supply for staff, students, and the wider community,” said the Presidential Empowerment Funds.

The statement said the programme demonstrates Government’s people-centred approach to service delivery and commitment to improving the welfare of citizens through practical development initiatives.

“This initiative reflects Government’s people-centred approach to service delivery and its ongoing commitment to community empowerment,” the statement said.

Zimbabwe has in recent years intensified borehole drilling and rural water supply programmes as part of efforts to address water shortages in urban and rural communities.

The Presidential Borehole Scheme is among several empowerment initiatives being rolled out across the country to improve access to essential services, strengthen food security and uplift livelihoods in line with the national development agenda.
