Dolly Parton shares hilarious health update amidst Las Vegas residency cancellation: ‘I’ll be up to snuff soon’

Dolly Parton is never letting go of her sense of humor. The beloved singer and icon shared a health update and the news of her canceled Las Vegas residency, which had been previously postponed in past months.

In a video message shared on her social media, Parton shared details of the health issues that have been plaguing her ovver the past year, and have resulted in the cancellation of numerous events and concerts.

“The good news is: I’m responding really well to meds and treatments and I’m improving every day,” she said. “Now the bad news is: It’s going to take me a little while before I’m up to stage performance level because some of the meds and treatments make me a little bit ‘swimmy’ headed, as my grandma used to say.”

Parton showcased her trademark sense of humor as she explained that she’d been going through some issues in her immune and digestive system.  “I’ve told you before that I’ve always had problems with my kidney stones. Lord, they dig more stones out of me a year than the rock quarry in Rockwood, Tennessee,” she said.

“My immune system and my digestive system got all out of whack over the past couple, three years, and they’re working real hard on rebuilding [and] strengthening those, and hopefully I’ll be up to snuff again soon.”

She continued to promote her work, sharing that she was working on new music and on a Broadway musical.  “I know you’re thinking, ‘Lord, sick or well, that girl’s always promoting something. Well, that’s true, but that’s how you get it done,” she said.
