All roads lead to Kwekwe Golf Club for the 10th Anniversary S.V. Muzenda Golf Tournament scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2026.
The tournament, held in honour of the late national hero and former Vice President Dr Simon Vengesai Muzenda, has grown from a small commemorative event into one of the most prestigious tournaments on Zimbabwe’s amateur golf calendar.
Organisers said this year’s edition carries special significance as it marks a decade of celebrating Dr Muzenda’s legacy of humility, service and development through sport.
“The S.V. Muzenda Golf Tournament is more than just golf. It is about remembering and celebrating the values that VaMuzenda stood for – hard work, unity and empowering communities,” the organising committee said at the launch.
“Reaching 10 years is a major milestone and we want to make this year’s tournament the biggest yet.”
More than 150 golfers, including seasoned professionals, amateurs and corporate executives, are expected to take part in the 18-hole Stableford competition.
Several leading corporates from the mining, banking and manufacturing sectors that have traditionally supported the tournament are expected to partner for the anniversary edition, with proceeds earmarked for community development projects in Kwekwe and the wider Midlands province.
The late Vice President, affectionately known as VaMuzenda or Dr Soul, was an avid supporter of sport and community development.
The Kwekwe Golf Club captain said the course is in pristine condition and ready to host the high-profile field.
“We are honoured to host the 10th anniversary. Our fairways and greens are ready and we expect highly competitive golf,” he said.
