Accreditation for delegates and other participants attending the 23rd ZANU PF National People’s Conference is gathering pace, with teams deployed across the country to facilitate the process ahead of the annual indaba.
The accreditation exercise began last week across the country’s 10 provinces, with the party saying preparations for the conference are progressing according to schedule.
At the party’s headquarters in Harare on Thursday, scores of delegates, service providers and members of the media were seen queuing to complete the accreditation process.
ZANU PF Director for Information and Publicity Cde Farai Marapira said the exercise was progressing smoothly, with the party taking measures to ensure that preparations are completed well ahead of the conference.
“Accreditation has started well. The teams have been in the provinces accrediting members for attendance at this year’s 23rd National People’s Conference,” said Cde Marapira.
He said the party was deliberately avoiding last-minute preparations by streamlining its processes and ensuring that accreditation and other logistical arrangements were handled in a timely manner.
“Things are all ahead of time, all preparations are essentially ahead of time and everything is moving smoothly,” he said.
Cde Marapira said the conference had generated considerable interest among party members, who were looking forward to the gathering to review the party’s activities and map out its programmes for the coming year.
“So this is going to be a wonderful conference. People are upbeat and looking forward to this get-together. They are especially excited to celebrate our wins and plan for the next year under the leadership of President Mnangagwa,” he said.
The conference will also run alongside a business expo, with the party reporting increased interest from companies and other players in the business sector.
Cde Marapira encouraged businesses wishing to participate in the expo to complete their registration early.
“We encourage any other businesses willing to join the others in celebrating the achievements under the leadership of President Mnangagwa and ZANU-PF to register as soon as possible,” he said.
The annual conference is held on a rotational basis and brings together party structures and delegates from across the country to deliberate on party programmes and priorities.
