Bikita Minerals breaks ground on Sosera-Ndambani road rehab

Bikita Minerals, a subsidiary of Sinomine Group, has commenced the rehabilitation of the Sosera-Ndambani Road in Masvingo Province.

In a statement, yesterday, Bikita Minerals said the project demonstrated its commitment to supporting infrastructure development in communities surrounding its operations.

“Bikita Minerals, a subsidiary of Sinomine Group, has joined Chief Marozva and local village heads in officially breaking ground on the rehabilitation of the Sosera-Ndambani Road,” the company said.

The mining company said the road rehabilitation was expected to deliver practical benefits to residents by improving the movement of people and goods within the area.

“The project is expected to improve rural connectivity, facilitate transport and enhance access to economic opportunities for surrounding communities.

“Improved road infrastructure would help strengthen links between surrounding communities and economic activities, while making transportation more efficient for residents and businesses operating in the area,” Bikita minerals added.

“The project formed part of its broader commitment to supporting infrastructure development in communities around its mining operations.

The company’s investment in the road comes as Zimbabwe continues to promote greater participation by mining companies in community development initiatives, with infrastructure development forming an important component of corporate social responsibility.

Bikita Minerals is one of Zimbabwe’s major lithium producers and is owned by China-based Sinomine Resource Group, which acquired the operation as part of its expansion into lithium resources.
