ZANU PF poised to clinch Mangwe Ward 12 by-election

The ruling ZANU PF Party appears set to clinch the forthcoming Ward 12 by-election in Mangwe Rural District Council, with visible infrastructure improvements under its candidate, Cde Benjamin Ndlovu, boosting public confidence and support.

After years of neglect under opposition leadership, the ward has witnessed tangible progress in recent weeks, signalling a decisive shift in local development priorities.

Roads that had long fallen into disrepair have been graded, significantly enhancing access for villagers, traders, and schoolchildren. The improved transport network has been widely welcomed by residents, who say it is already easing movement and revitalising small-scale economic activity.

Water provision, another long-standing challenge in the ward, has also received urgent attention.

Boreholes that had broken down over the years have been repaired, bringing relief to communities that once struggled with unreliable water sources.

A drilling rig is expected to arrive in the coming days to sink new boreholes, further cementing the gains made in addressing water scarcity.

Speaking during a recent community engagement meeting, Cde Ndlovu said his efforts were inspired by ZANU PF’s national vision of empowering rural communities through sustainable infrastructure and improved service delivery.

“Our people deserve development that is visible, practical, and life-changing. We are not making promises; we are delivering results that speak for themselves,” he said.

Local residents echoed similar sentiments, expressing gratitude for the rapid improvements.

“We can now see the difference between talk and action. Under Cde Ndlovu and ZANU PF, our lives are beginning to change for the better,” said one villager from Madabe area.

The developments come as the 25 October 2025 by-election draws near, with analysts suggesting that ZANU PF’s hands-on approach and swift delivery of key services have positioned the party strongly ahead of polling day.

The visible progress on the ground has also reignited optimism among residents, many of whom believe the current leadership is capable of steering Ward 12 towards lasting growth and unity.

Cde Ndlovu’s leadership style—marked by accountability, accessibility, and community engagement—has been widely praised as a reflection of the ruling party’s renewed focus on grassroots transformation.

His track record in addressing immediate local needs, coupled with ZANU PF’s broader development agenda, is expected to give the party a decisive edge in the upcoming vote.

As Ward 12 moves forward, the spirit of optimism continues to grow, with residents anticipating a new era of progress and stability under ZANU PF’s stewardship.
