Prominent cleric Passion Java and his wife Lily Java have announced the dissolution of their marriage in separate official statements, confirming that the union was legally ended some time ago.
In a joint development that has drawn attention across Christian communities locally and abroad, the two said the decision followed prayer, counsel and reflection.
“After prayer, counsel, and much reflection, we want to formally acknowledge that our marriage has been legally dissolved for some time.” said Lily Java in a statement.
She added that while their marital covenant had ended, their shared responsibility as parents remained intact.
“Our three sons continue to be our highest priority, and we are committed to raising them with stability, love, and intentional care,” she said.
Lily Java also clarified that their ministries and leadership paths would now proceed independently.
“We are no longer connected in marriage, leadership, or vision. Each of us is pursuing the individual path and assignment God has entrusted to us,” she said.
Passion Java echoed similar sentiments, describing the decision as mature and peaceful.
“This decision was not made lightly, but with maturity, understanding, and peace .Though our marriage has come to an end, we remain friends and committed partners in raising our three beautiful children,” he said.
He emphasised that divorce would not affect his parental responsibilities.
“Divorce does not change my responsibility or dedication as a father. Our children will continue to receive the presence, support, and guidance they deserve from both parents,” he said.
Both indicated they are entering a new season focused on healing, growth and their individual callings, while requesting understanding, discretion and prayers from their followers and the wider Christian community.
The announcement marks a significant personal transition for the high-profile couple, who have built a global ministry footprint and strong social media presence over the years.
