Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, today presided over the investiture ceremony for General Emmanuel Matatu at State House. General Matatu, formerly Lieutenant General, was promoted in terms of section 216(2) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, as read with sections 7(1) and 8(2) of the Defence Act [Chapter 11:02]. His elevation to the rank of General and appointment as Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces took effect on November 21.
