Police have arrested Daniel Munyanyi, the suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of two detectives in Ndanga. Munyanyi had been on the run since the incident, which claimed the lives of two officers from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) during a confrontation last week.
Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed that the arrest follows an intensive manhunt launched after Munyanyi allegedly opened fire on the detectives, who were pursuing a gang of armed robbery suspects.
National Police Spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi had earlier assured the public that the fugitive would be apprehended, stressing that law-enforcement agencies were closing in on him.
Police say further details will be released once investigations progress.
