Communities across Matabeleland have expressed strong support for Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB3).
In an interview with this publication yesterday, Zanu-PF Chairperson Freedom Ndlovu Umguza District, Matebeleland North said the province had embraced the Bill, citing its potential to strengthen leadership continuity and policy implementation.
“As Matabeleland, we are fully behind Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 because it speaks to the stability of our country and ensures that development programmes are not disrupted.
We have seen the progress being made under the current leadership, and CAB3 will consolidate these gains for the benefit of all Zimbabweans,”he said
Sikhatele Moyo, a member of Young Women for ED in Bubi District Matebelaland North, said the Bill carries significant importance for women and youth, who stand to benefit from sustained economic and social programmes.
“As young women, we support CAB3 because it ensures continuity of policies that are already empowering us at grassroots level.
Development projects in our communities need consistency, and this Bill helps to secure that future. It also gives us confidence that our voices and aspirations will continue to be prioritised,”she said
Meanwhile, Deputy Zanu-PF Secretary for Transport and Welfare in Shangani, Insiza District, Matebelaland South Dumisani Sibanda, said the Bill was being widely discussed at community level, with many residents expressing optimism about its long-term impact.
“People here in Shangani are in support of CAB3 because they understand what it means for service delivery and infrastructure development.
We want to see roads improved, transport systems strengthened and social welfare programmes expanded, and this Bill creates an environment where such progress can continue without interruption,”he said
Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 seeks to introduce changes to Zimbabwe’s Constitution aimed at enhancing governance efficiency and aligning legal frameworks with ongoing national development priorities.
