Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Professor Amon Murwira, arrived in Belgrade, Serbia, to hold bilateral talks with Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Marko Đurić.
In a statement, yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade said the visit reflects Zimbabwe’s commitment to broadening its international partnerships in line with the Second Republic’s foreign policy priorities.
“The visit underscores Zimbabwe’s continued engagement with strategic international partners as the Second Republic advances an economic diplomacy agenda anchored on trade, investment and industrialisation,” the Ministry said.
It added that strengthening relations with Serbia is expected to create new opportunities for economic cooperation that directly contribute to national development goals.
“By strengthening bilateral relations, Zimbabwe seeks to unlock new export opportunities, attract investment, promote technology and skills transfer, and expand market access for Zimbabwean products,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry said the outcomes of Prof. Murwira’s engagements in Serbia are expected to benefit both countries by promoting mutually rewarding cooperation.
“The engagements are expected to deepen cooperation between Zimbabwe and Serbia further, contributing to shared economic growth, job creation and the attainment of Vision 2030 through mutually beneficial international partnerships,” the Ministry said.
This visit comes as Zimbabwe continues to pursue strategic bilateral engagements aimed at enhancing international cooperation, expanding economic opportunities and supporting the country’s industrialisation drive under Vision 2030.
