The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has launched a manhunt for two suspects linked to the unlawful possession and dealing in dangerous drugs following the recovery of dagga and Broncleer cough syrup, during a raid at a house in Bulawayo.
In a statement, yesterday, the ZRP said detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Drugs and Narcotics, Bulawayo, conducted the raid at a house along Oragon Road, Newton West, on 2 August 2026, leading to the recovery of drugs and suspected controlled substances.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of two suspects linked to unlawful dealing in dangerous drugs following a raid at a house along Oragon Road, Newton West, by detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics, Bulawayo, on 02/08/2026,” said the police.
The police said the suspects managed to escape during the operation, leaving behind a vehicle which has since been impounded as investigations continue.
“During the raid, detectives recovered 36 cobs of dagga weighing approximately 30 kg, 58 boxes containing 50 x 100 ml bottles each of Broncleer Cough Syrup and 447 loose 100 ml bottles of Broncleer Cough Syrup,” said the ZRP.
The recovery adds to ongoing law enforcement efforts targeting the illegal supply and distribution of drugs and substances that continue to pose a threat to communities, particularly among young people.
The police said the suspects abandoned a white Honda Vezel motor vehicle during the raid and appealed to members of the public to provide any information that could assist in locating the wanted individuals.
“The suspects fled from the scene, abandoning a white Honda Vezel, registration number AHG 5315, which has since been impounded by the police,” the ZRP said.
The force urged members of the public with information on the whereabouts of the suspects or details that could help investigations to approach any nearest police station.
