President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged all Zimbabweans to draw inspiration from the legacy of the three national heroes being laid to rest today. In his keynote address, he stressed that the best way to pay tribute to Major General (Rtd) Herbert Chingono, Cde Cosmas Chiringa, and Cde Elson Mupamaonde is by emulating their unwavering commitment to Zimbabwe’s development, unity, and sovereignty.
He called on citizens to reflect on the values these heroes’ embodied courage, dedication, and patriotism—and to translate that spirit into actions that advance the nation’s progress. The President’s message underscored that true honour lies not just in words or ceremonies, but in actively building a Zimbabwe that mirrors the ideals of its heroes.
